Our Practice

New Scotland Mental Health Solutions (NSMHS) was founded in 2024 by Mike Moir, Managing Director and Co-Owner, and Dr. Ahmed Saleh, Psychiatrist, Clinical Director and Co-Owner, bringing together two complementary areas of expertise with a shared vision for better mental health care for the military and Veteran community.

With extensive experience in business operations, management, and tax services, Mike brought the business and operational foundation needed to build a practice focused on efficient, ethical, and patient-centred care. Dr. Saleh brought years of experience caring for Veterans and military members as a psychiatrist within Nova Scotia's public healthcare system, as well as through his work, providing specialized and intensive treatments, including rTMS. 

In 2025, Alexa El-Hawary joined the NSMHS team with a background in Business Administration, with a minor in Psychology. Under the guidance of Mike, an exceptional mentor, Alexa has developed a strong commitment to supporting the Veteran community and contributing to the practice’s patient-centred operations.

What began as a shared vision has continued to grow into a multidisciplinary mental health practice serving patients across the Atlantic Provinces.

While our team and services have expanded, our original mission remains at the heart of everything we do.
